Of course you can. I’m in now and the army is actually doing my lasik. Also you CAN be a pilot in th Army even with corrected vision as long as you have 20/20 they don’t care if it takes glasses to get there.

    I’m pretty sure you can.

It will limit your job opportunities however.

Yeah you can join but as someone else said depending on the type of surgery you may be limited on what jobs you can do, I know if you had lasik then you cant go airborne because of the flap they cut in the eye, but if you had PRK then its not an issue. My husband had PRK and is not limited in his job and he is a Ranger and makes jumps.

I was an Infantryman for 21 years. Right before we invaded Iraq, the Army paid for anyone who was Infantry or SF (I think some other MOS’s also) to get laser eye surgery.

For the Army, the only restrictions from having laser eye surgery is that you have to wait 6 months after having had the surgery before enlisting in the Army. Other than that, you have perfect vision now, right? So why would that hold you back? Call your local Army recruiter to set up an appointment.
