Does Laser Eye Surgery Hurt?

I’m planning on getting LASEK next year, I have seen videos of the procedure being done and it looks bloody painful and horrible. Especially that thing that holds your eyes open.

I had laser eye surgery earlier this year. There is absolutely no pain involved. It is uncomfortable but not painful. I have not yet suffered from any side effects either. I would recommend getting laser eye surgery to anyone. One of the best decisions i ever made.

Both my mum and sister had laser eye surgery and the process itself isn’t painful because they give you a local anesthetic. It hurts afterwards but you are supposed to rest your eyes for at least 24 hours and not go out in the sun for a bit.

However the long term effects are not so good. Both my mum and sister have been suffering from dry eyes since their operations and they become reddish. Maybe it’s just them but I’ve seen my sister’s friend who also had the operation and she had redness in eyes too.

And if you are very short sighted, it will not be completely removed and you will probably have to wear up to -1 perscription glasses.

My advice- don’t do laser eye surgery yet. Let a few more years pass until they invent the equuipment that reduces these side effects or completely eliminates them.

I’ve heard it doesnt, my dad and stepmom got it and haven’[t had any problems…I’d advise not watching any videos so that when you do get it done, you wont know what they’re doing exactly haha
