if you wear contacts now at 15, can you still get laser eye surgery?
i want to wear contacts cuz i think i look better in them and i have worn them once and it makles such a clear world around you. my mom and my brother think they’ll mess up my vision and think i wont be able to get laser eye surgery if i wear contacts. is that true?

When you are old enough to have laser eye surgery, you will have to be out of your contacts several weeks before you have the surgery. Wearing contacts now will not prevent you from having laser down the road if you follow all the instructions you are given when you are fit with contacts.

You can definitely get the laser surgery if you wear contacts after talking to your doctor. However, you may not be able to wear contacts after the surgery if for some reason you still have a number. Thats one of the reasons i decided not to do it.

No, I perform this surgery, and as per others in this forum, you have to be out of soft contacts 2 weeks prior and gas permeable contacts 1 month prior.

Your mom and brother are not correct in this instance. They are giving you their opinion. Call an ophthalmologist and ask the question and I am sure you will be able to have laser eye surgery later.

Hi. I imagine you have a pretty high scrip like my 12 year old sister Emily who is -7.00 and -7.75. She’s definitely wanting contacts for sport and swimming and stuff and maybe laser later if her eyes continue to get worse. I think contacts should be OK to wear now, even if you decide to go for laser later.
